Our stories -- who we are, and what we go through -- give us power.
1. WHO WE ARE: UPLOAD A PHOTO OF LOVED ONES (AND/OR SELF)
We want the state attorneys to remember that this wage theft impacts real people, such as ourselves and our loved ones. Upload a photo of people you hold dear in life -- whether the people we work to provide for, or those we miss during a long shift and can't wait to see after.
Those closest to us have also been affected by Uber and Lyft's wage theft. Please upload photographs of them, and RDU will print these out for you to add to a display during the rally, that we'll deliver, so that the attorney general can see more of the many faces they are fighting for.
2. SHARE A RIDESHARE STORY WITH THE PUBLIC:
Which stories from rideshare drivers do the public need to hear most?
Each of us have stories that demonstrate the wide ranging scale of Lyft and Uber's abuse. Take a few minutes to share yours in the box to the right.
- It's up to you what to say! This can be: a single incident, or a long-standing pattern; can be why you drive rideshare, or why you left; a time when you felt at your lowest, or when you overcame an obstacle.
- Emotion: the most effective stories are emotionally charged and require some vulnerability to tell.
- Be concise: less is more, and a few sentences is best.
- Consider including a story that involves the people in the photo(s) you uploaded.
- If you have a powerful story that's longer and should be shared with press, we can help you prepare and connect with journalists (contact Chase at golding.chase@gmail.com)
