RDU Union Survey

On Oct. 3, Governor Newsom signed AB1340 into law, granting union rights to California rideshare drivers (more info here).

Drivers across the state are now facing new opportunities and consequential decisions.

Please take a few minutes to answer the below survey questions to help determine the future of RDU and driver power in California.

California law (AB 1340) will now allow rideshare drivers statewide to form a union, selecting an organization to represent us.

Drivers need our own driver-led union to prioritize and effectively address driver issues.
We don't need our own driver-run union. We can do just as well joining an existing union of non-drivers.

Under AB 1340, for drivers to choose RDU as our union, RDU needs to formally affiliate with an established union.

I support RDU becoming the union for California Uber and Lyft drivers. RDU should affiliate with an established union to meet AB 1340's requirements.

Please rank these bargaining issues in order of importance for our union contract:

20% commission limit
transparency on pricing and ride assignments
autonomous vehicles
A rate card ($1.75/mile & $0.60/minute)
address insurance issues
Fair process for deactivations (a "just cause" standard)
